...I gotta build me a bigger burn pit. I have a circular pit maybe four feet in diameter. Surrounded by a wall of rocks about 8 inches high. It's ok for burning yard debris but if ya got to clean up an acre or so it's insufficient.

I spent the last four hours feeding my annual bonfire - which also involved pruning a lot of the trees I'd hauled there into burn-sized pieces. The fire pit is about 12 feet across, so it was a lot of wood and a lot of work.

I do this once or twice a year, but this may have been the biggest I've had. I don't think past fires had me this exhausted. I probably should have "sugared up" before taking this on today.

And, yeah, I'm sunburned from the heat. I also had a number of embers land and burn through my clothes. Oh well. Old clothes. Old body.

I timed it right. It started to rain just as I got the last of the branches onto the fire. It's still going, but it's a lot smaller with just a handful of huge logs left.. I expect the rain will put them out in the next 2 - 3 hours.
