I read the book and then saw the movie. As is often the case when one does it in that order, the movie did not live up to my expectations. Aside from being being wowed - as I always was - with how hot Jennifer Lawrence used to be, the movie was poor.

The book isn't that good either. It's okay but not great. It is, after all, a kid's book, written for young high schoolers and appropriately simplistic. But even with its flaws, the book is much better than the movie.

BTW, Have you guys rewatched "The Hunger Games" recently? It series is on Amazon Prime now and I recommend it. I saw it the first time on a "date" with my daughter. She liked the movie; I liked the message. It is very clear, to me, that whoever wrote the book was not a "socialist" and new a bit about history!

But too few got the message. So...welcome back to the Hunger Games!
