election days are an annual thing out here. And primaries are election days too, right?

And Georgia is having a run-off election. That would make 3 new holidays for them.

Re: “Enough with made up history and made up holidays and made up heroes.”
Last night on Fox, I think it was Ted Cruz who was advocating for election day to be a national holiday. He'd like vote-by-mail to be there for the handicapped and elderly but for election "DAY" to mean something again.

His heart may be in the right place but his suggestion is stupid. In my life, I've seen both Martin Luther King's birthday and Juneteenth... whatever the hell that is... turned into a holiday. The Federal Government loves holidays. It makes voters happy and doesn't cost those who create the holidays a penny. Businessmen and taxpayers have to foot the bill. In the case of an ELECTION DAY holiday... well, election days are an annual thing out here. And primaries are election days too, right? So there are TWO election days every second year.

I just wonder how many other stupid and costly holidays clowns like Ted Cruz are going to propose. Probably Caesar Chavez Day sometime soon. Or Obama's birthday. Oh, and a holiday is needed for women. How about AMY SCHNEIDER DAY - in honor of the first pretend-woman to do well on Jeopardy?
