Speaking of "a worthwhile candidate on the Democrat side if Biden took a pass", my money would be on Eric Garcetti. I know that he doesn't yet have as high a profile as say a US Senator or Governor, but take a look at his story, he checks a lot of boxes:
2024 is too far away. If somehow The Buffoon gets behind bars before then - some choices should solidify. I would consider a worthwhile candidate on the Democrat side if Biden took a pass.
