Yep. It increasingly reminds me of the excesses of the Roman Empire: feeding children to animals and having transsexuals fight in the Colosseum for attention. And we even have our fentanyl and pot to help us cover over the pain of watching as everything goes to hell.
Meanwhile, I continue to be surprised that what remains of the American people (even discounting that half the population only came here so they could spend their lives in Disneyland) is so "okay" with watching everything come to this.
THAT is the undeniable truth, yer majesty. I've often thought about what reaction I would receive if I could take news of modern events back to the 60s and the 70s and show it to my grandparents, parents, uncles, and aunts. I'm sure the initial reaction would be one of complete disbelief. Although, given the vast majority of my family members were staunch Christians, they would not discount the total depravity that humankind could and would gravitate towards, but I'm sure they would absolutely astonished at how quickly and far the decline would be for this country that they dearly loved.
