Re: “What are you putting in for an outside boiler?”
I bought this two years ago and don't yet know if it works. My oil guy looked it over and said it seems to be good, though. No leaks.

It's a 1st generation, which means that it's old but also that its able to burn any type of wood. Newer boilers are not. Since my plan is to burn trees that fall on the property - many of which are pine - I wanted a 1st generation boiler.

I don't have any paperwork on it and don't know the specs beyond what's shown below.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

What are you putting in for an outside boiler? We had a wood burning outside furnace. We loved it. We burned a lot of wood but most of the wood we got was free. We had a friend who had a big tree service company.
They make some really high tech ones now, but Ours was low tech. 500 gal water tank, firebox ,small blower for combustion air and a pump. We had an oil burner in the house and old fashion radiators. The water from outside furnace would circulate into the house to a liquid to liquid heat exchanger heating the house radiators. I had but in a switch to turn on/off the oil burner of the inside furnace.
It was also tied into my electric water heater for hot water.
