Please allow me a brief moment of pride and a slight correction to Fiz's remark about American troops losing every war.

And mentioning Vetnam.

I was there. So was Ribs albeit in different assignments.
We both did our duty and our jobs.

Let me say that the fights I was in were terrible. One never likes to see your brothers and friends riddled with crater size holes or missing body parts or their intetines hanging out..

Now, I cannot help that our so called Presidential leadership decided the direction and longevity or means in which we would conduct the war. BUT.......

We did not lose ANY of the battles I was involved in and neither did we retreat. Yes, we had casualties and men who lost ther lives way to early. But we did not lose ANY of the battles.

Our government may have finally decided to end this fiasco the way it did and trust me, I did not like it any more than anyone else. But unless you were in the field of fire and fighting for your life alongside your fellow Marine, and seeing the battle thru to a conclusion, I would correct or amend your comment.. It is NOT accurate.. I was there. So was Ribit..

Our politicians have managed to screw up more things only to be eventually bailed out by the likes of Eisenhower, Patton, Schwarzkopf, MacArthur, etc. But as far as the fights went, the vast majority of them were won by the grunts who fought them...

Thanks for listening...

Fiz > The US has the biggest F*-up military in the world. We have lost, lost, lost, lost, and lost again in all our battles since WW2.

A lot of stuff in there Fiz. And a lot of it is wrong.

Our military is FFFed up now. . . thanks to biden A.) pretending to remove 'white supremacist terrorists' from the ranks and B.) using the military as a woke-turd social experiment.

Between WWII and today the Troops won every battle . . . and the politicians surrendered the Wars.

Vietnam. The Tet Offensive . . . Walter Cronkite handed the N. Vietnamese a major propaganda victory . . . But what really happened with Tet? The Viet Cong failed to achieve any meaningful objectives and the Viet Cong was no longer a credible military threat after Tet.

The First Gulf War? The Troops did an excellent job of reducing saddam husseins 'legions' to scrap metal and dog food.

The invasion of Iraq? More of the same. I haven't forgotten a sand storm that swept across Iraq . . . The troops hunkering down for it to pass . . . The 'American Media' proudly proclaiming that the American Army was 'bogged down in an Iraqi quagmire' . . . And when the sand storm passed the guys went on to conquer Baghdad.

Afghanistan? Bush had the right idea. Send in the Special Forces types . . Massive American air power . . Inject the 'Northern Alliance' with (the equivalent of) steroids . . . And the Taliban found themselves out of power and our Special Forces were free to hunt and kill al-qaida wherever in Afghanistan they wanted to.

Barak obozo is the clown who shoveled a whole American Army into Afghanistan . . . and accomplished absolutely nothing. biden is the turd who surrendered America to the taliban.

Fiz > We have great—incredibly expensive—tech. But history says weapons, in the long run, do not primarily determine outcomes.

World War I. The 'new tech' machine guns mowed down the 'fighting spirit' in droves. It took more 'new tech' - the invention of the tank to end trench warfare.

Fiz > It is also why we LOST the war against the Vietnamese. And also the Taliban. It is also why the Russians lost to the Taliban.

Close, but not quite. The N.Vietnamese had Russian arms and munitions. During the Russians little adventure in Afghanistan it was we Americans (and a few others) who provided the 'mujaheedin' with the advanced weaponry etc. etc. that enabled them to kill Russians until the Russians got tired of having their sons brought home in body bags.

The 'fighting spirit' does account for something. But not enough if the military firepower difference is extreme enough.

For over forty years Eastern Europe lived under the Russian yoke. During those forty years there were several 'revolutions' - all of which were brutally put down by Russia. What ended it? I like to think it was a combination of Russia's problems in Afghanistan coupled with Ronald Reagans putting the Russians into an Arms Race they could not win . . . Culminating in the implosion of the old USSR.

And, Yes, China needs to be moved up to the top of our 'hit list'.

And I believe Trump was working on forming up something along the lines of NATO except it being more along the lines of a 'South Pacific Treaty Organization' rather than a North Atlantic. (The goal being to contain China's imperialistic ambitions.)
