I am sure that by now you guys know full well the climate you live in.. I am glad it sounds like you worked hard enough to keep things "livable" and that you still have power.

DO you have a backup generator that would be large enough in power (around 100 amps) to keep y'all in electric until your line gets restored in case you do lose it for a few days? They run off propane and you can store that..

It would be a worthwhile investment for those just in case scenarios especially where you could have severe cold temps for extended time.

When one gets older they worry about everyone.. Don't mind me..

Re: “Re: “Keep us posted please De!””
As it turns out, we're getting a bit more snow than was predicted.

I woke to an accumulated 6 inches and cleared it from the deck and dog yard so that the poor mutt could go out. This was light, fluffy snow.

By midafternoon, another 6 inches had accumulated. It was much heavier, water-laden snow - the type that freezes solid overnight and becomes a real bear to clear. So I went out again around 2:30 and shoveled both the deck and the dog yard. Then I pulled out the snowblower at 3:45 and worked the driveway. It was dark before long, but I've got good lights in the yard. They flickered four times while I was out there, so the heavy snow was obviously taking a toll on area trees. We have just one tub, so when I got in, my wife and I took our respective evening showers, then filled the tub so we would have a water reserve in case of a power outage. Lights have continued to flicker, and we did lose power for two minutes a short time ago.

The storm is supposed to end at 7 AM. If you don't hear from me in the morning, you'll know why. So far, though, all is well.
