GM Fiz !
Like you, I ran four corporporations in my working years.
Two I owned. I enjoyed the challenges daily of working and rarely was I ever in my office. I was on the plant floor always studying production, equipment, ways to make things go smoother and easier for the people who had to get the work done. Happy employees are productive employees. Treat them like family..
My purpose now as I think it is is to serve God and help to train and teach other men who are called to serve God and need training and knowledge.
I am writing the textbook for the book of Nehemiah for a seminary that trains and teaches Bible to men who are called to the PAstorate in foreign countries that missionaries have reached with the gospel of Christ.
I am doing something I like and enjoy, which is expounding on the scriptures and this request to me to do this was for the right reason.
I only do consulting work to keep me occupied and to meet people in other industries and other parts of the country. I am on kind of a "give back" tour of this stage of life.
This whole heart experience I have gone thru and will like De continue to go thru the rest of my earthly life has changed my perspective and given me a dose of reality. De has gone thru much more serious procedure than my measley four bypasses so I was delighted to hear from him when I was in the hospital.
But now, I think about my real reason for living and how to fulfill what I think I may be supposed to do.
Nobody realy likes to listen to or learn from older men. All the youngsters think they have arrived and learned it all. It took me over 45 years to get a grasp on lots of different manufacturing processes and what could go wrong and how to avoid those same things.
I am one of two people left in the country who have over 44 years of hands on expertise in powder coating , covering everything from the formulations, chemistry, to the actual setting up of running various types of powder application equipment.
Beyond that, I have been in manufacturing of metal products for all those years and layed out four different manufacturing plants , two of my own and two different ones for clients. Work flow and ergonomics. And some automation of various degrees.
But, I believe I am here to pass on things I have learned to others that they don't make the same mistakes, and also to help train people for ministry. I have taught in seminary before part time and enjoyed doing it.
I just want to be useful and helpful and feel like I am still needed. I think tat is where I am kind of at right now.....
