Re: “Scenario A: Putin begs, borrows, or steals enough non-nuclear weaponry to demolish Ukraine and its infrastructure to the point that the winter kills enough of the Ukrainian people that his poorly trained conscripts can 'take over' the place. With not enough manufacturing or other 'money making' activities left to make it worth the cost.

Scenario B: I'm sure Putin has the launch codes . . . but will the guys who need said codes to actually launch nukes - knowing it might be the end of Russia as 'they' know it - actually 'throw the BOMBs'? And is Putin threatening nukes because he has no other valid threats to use - but Putin knows that he can't afford to actually use them?

Scenario C: The Ukrainians finish driving out or killing all the Russian troops in Ukraine. Including Donbas and the Crimea. The rest of the world suggests 'peace talks' . . . With Russia realizing that the Ukrainians next step just might be annexing Russian territory . . .”
I appreciate the response!

I might agree with Scenario 'C' except that it would have to start with 'Putin is assassinated.' That would have to happen before 'C' could.

Regarding scenario 'B,' I haven't the slightest doubt that 'the guys' would 'throw the bombs.' They're trained to follow orders, not to think for themselves. Same as our 'our guys.'

There should be a scenario 'D': Putin, with his back to the wall, decides that he has no choice but to use nukes. And yes, they get launched. I'm not going to speculate as to who he'd target, but the hope would doubtless be that NATO would then back down - so, all rhetoric aside, it probably wouldn't be London. Maybe some place in rural Poland... a place that convinces the West that Putin means what he says but doesn't start WWIII. I don't think the ploy would work, so we'd be kissing our a$$es goodbye shortly after.

'A' strikes me as the most likely.
