Yes, it is a great feeling to still be needed occasionally. It gives me a sense of usefulness and that my family still needs me. Yours also.
We asked my wife's sister to come don here from farther north yesterday to spend time here and in a more stable electrical supply area than rural area she lives in. She is about 50 miles north and her home is not very well insulated, gets cold inside even though her source of heat is on, and the electric tends to go out easily.
She is too old to live alone in conditions like these so we made one of the extra bedrooms into her room so she can live with us over holidays and whenever bad weather approaches. My home is BRICK and extremely well insulated below it, in the attick and in all the walls. It does not leak air either. So it stays toasty at whatever temperature miz micro decides feels good to her.
I have been blessed in my life wo be able to get whatever we need and sometimnes just want without thinking about it and I am grateful God has blessed me like that.
US old grunts still need to look after the flock and its a great feeling! Good for you Marine!
