I thank y'all for responding to this thread. Although nominating Trump for Speaker of the House was an idea I heard as "possible" some time back, Congressman Gaet just did that!! Although he is not my Representative, I called his office to thank him for his courage and effort: 850-479-1183. He's going to be on my short list next time I make a political contribution.
How does that tie in with this thread? Well, my original post was supposedly about the best possible outcome, I could reasonably imagine, from the slim Republican majority. As I said then, and still believe, the best we can hope from this House is steadfast trouble for the Deep State, by relentless pursuit of investigations and full disclosure to the WORLD. I said, and I still think, the House shouldn't be "working with the Democrats to pass new legislation", as that is a Faustian bargain, for sure.
Trump for Speaker was not anything on my radar. But now that the nomination has been made I as SO happy! I don't know how many in the House will support this nomination, nor that Trump would accept. But this is something bold, which can only help our plight!
This should, absolutely, "separate the wheat from teh chaff", as the saying goes! Every "yeah", every "nay", even every "abstain" is going to be meaningful! Wow! And what could open up in the world of possibilities if Trump were to win the nomination? And, again, it will be a win even if he doesn't get the nomination! Wow!!!!!;-)
