I think she was taking seven 3mg pills a day. (21mg). That’s what her prescription says.

Re: “Emily Miller's statement: "The Ivermectin was 7 pills of 3mg each once a day."”
Bwah ha ha ha! No wonder she was so sick!!!

My ivermectin was for horses. The package says "this syringe contains sufficient paste to treat one 1250 lb horse at the recommended dose rate of 91 mcg ivermectin per lb (200 mcg/kg) body weight." A single click of the syringe is sufficient to dose a 250 pound animal, so that's what I was taking each day. 250 pounds times 91 mcg is 22,750 mcg, or 22.75 mg. I was taking seven times her dose.

Moreover, my ivermectin says "do not under dose. Ensure each animal receives a complete dose based on a current body weight. Underdosing may result in ineffective treatment, and encourage the development of parasite resistance." I didn't underdose. Emily Miller probably did.

I had the additional benefit of being forewarned that I was going to get sick. My wife became symptomatic 10 days before I did, and I took full advantage of that time, loading up on ivermectin each day. Given that you probably only need to take ivermectin once per week when you're not sick, I had a *lot* of it in my system by the time I became ill.

During that period, I was also using a neti pot twice daily, rinsing out my sinuses with iodine and distilled water. That ensured that when I became infected, it was with a very small viral load. Those who are not using a neti pot probably receive an initial load that is thousands of times what mine was.

It matters. While I did get sick, it was one of the mildest "colds" I have ever had. My wife, on the other hand, said she felt like she'd been hit by a bus. She didn't start using a neti pot until she was actually sick. And she declined to take ivermectin at all (because it was "horse paste," I suspect. That's completely irrational. Horses run from expensive to insanely expensive. Vets don't give them contaminated or otherwise unsafe medication.)

I'll never know, but I do think the ivermectin helped. A lot.
