My son had a 4.46 GPA but was not in contention for Valedictorian because he graduated in 2017. Fairfax school district eliminated Valedictorian a year or two before.

I wouldn't be surprised if this played a role in his not being accepted by an Ivy League school even though he applied to all of them and had a much higher high school GPA than any of them did among the students they took. I don't think any of them had more than a 4.1 average.

To its credit, Yale put Joey on its wait list, but that didn't go anywhere.

At least three Loudoun County High Schools, Potomac Falls, Freedom and Loudoun County withheld notification of national merit recognition from their students.

In neighboring Fairfax county, the #1 ranked high school in the United States Thomas Jefferson high school also withheld national merit recognition.

This is the “Equal Outcome” crap the leftist kooks are pushing. Jefferson has a lot of Asians. A lot of law suits will be filed. The Equal Outcome people are racist.
