Re: “Seeing America like that at your ages should have been fantastic and memories you aill always have.. ”
I've crossed the U.S. by car eleven times. What I can tell you is that the once beautiful scenery has been ruined by windmills almost everywhere. The first few you see are kind of cool. But after a while, you just wish for photo opportunities that aren't polluted by those damned things. We saw THOUSANDS on the 2021 trip, especially in AR, OK, TX, NM, AZ and CA. Re: “Its cold here but not snowing.”You've got our weather! It was supposed to be a decent day, cloudy and warm. Instead it started snowing an hour ago and hasn't let up. Since we were supposed to have twelve hours of cloud, maybe it'll be twelve hours of snow instead and require shoveling.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Re: “Speaking of which, how is the young man doing these days?? You haven;t spoken much of him since you guys crossed the continental divide on the way back from a long road trip to the west coast.”
Thanks for asking but there's not much I can say about his schoolwork. He's hard at it again after a University of California strike interrupted all of last semester. Uh, QUARTER, I mean. They aren't on a semester system. He was supposed to come here for Christmas but decided to catch Covid-19 instead so it's been a long time since I've seen him. He's still active in choir... he's the music director, in fact, but it isn't nearly as talented a group as the one he left at UVA. I often listen to that previous choir's album and wonder if they could have approached a record company and gotten signed! I think the rule for that album was that members wrote arrangements of favorite songs and the group voted on which ones to do. They then auditioned to sing solos, and no person who wrote an arrangement could also be its vocal lead. On Seeing Red, Joey sang one and arranged three of its eleven songs.

A Capella isn't popular, but the album is really good and hardly sounds like choir, imvho. If you have time, give it a listen. You might find some of the language in certain songs offensive. Then again, you're a marine so it'd take a lot to make you blush:
