I don't know if you guys are keeping an eye on ChatGPT (or, better yet, playing with it - in what remains of its free trial period) but it is a major, major, major jump in "AI" in terms of practical use.

It is creating a scandal in many fields as the program is running circles around all but the top humans in a variety of endeavors...including writing original papers in science and many other fields.

Google is running scared that ChatGPT will soon be in a position to GUT its "search" business. English departments in many universities are seeing their own demise as ChatGPT can write better than most of their graduates. Etc.

And the next generations in the ChatGPT lineage will be even better.

There is talk of all manner of "knowledge" workers being obsoleted. Including most lawyers, many doctors, etc.

Google has a derivative which can write music, with instrumental arrangements and even vocals, which is getting, apparently, close to human quality.

I'm thinking 90% of managerial and analytical jobs could be going bye-bye soon.

And, I am wondering if we might FINALLY be in a positi to fire effectively ALL government "workers" in favor of more trustworthy servants?
