44-year-old female vegetarian MSNBC host is hospitalized for almost 10 days for heart inflammation, blames everything but the obvious cause

It was because of a cold, people. A COLD! From the Can't Make It Up Department

On Saturday, MSNBC weekend host Yasmin Vossoughian took to the cable airwaves (to tell viewers why they hadn’t seen her for a while.

Like most of you, I was only vaguely aware that MSNBC still existed, so I missed Vossoughian’s triumphant return before hundreds - possibly thousands - of viewers. But it turns out some Unreported Truths readers are MSNBC watchers too (not my mom, okay!).

And one of them pointed me to the segment.

Which is quite something.

Vossoughian gives us her health bonafides straight off.

She doesn’t eat meat, doesn’t smoke, practices yoga, and until her health scare runs seven miles a day three to four times a week. (Huh??? Which is it? Seven miles a day? Or 21 - 28 miles a week? It can't very well be both. - De) Aside from working too much (But how can she not? What would her viewers do without her?), she is in perfect shape. Gonna live forever, in the words of Liam Gallagher. Her body is a wonderland.

Well, it was a wonderland until late December, when Vossoughian had mysterious aches in her chest for 10 days, culminating in chest and shoulder pain so severe that she wound up in the emergency room.

There she was diagnosed with pericarditis, which was severe enough that she needed a procedure to drain the fluid from the sac around her heart. She was held for four nights before being discharged.

But three days after that, she felt a “a butterfly” in her heart - or, less poetically, an arrhythmia - and was hospitalized again, with myocarditis, for five more nights, and was given a “battery” of tests before being released.

Even Dr. Rochelle Walensky would not call a case of myopericarditis that required nine days of hospitalization “mild.”

But what could have caused Vossoughian’s sudden illness?

Well, you (and Pfizer!) will be pleased to hear that its biggest-selling product is never mentioned in the segment. Nor the word that starts with “V” and ends with “E.” Nor those fun four letters M-R-N-A! Nor Comirnaty, nor Spikevax, nor BNT162b2.

Now, I must make a small confession here.

As far as I can tell, Vossoughian has never publicly disclosed receiving the vaccine, much less a booster.

EDIT/UPDATE: A reader found the Tweet that had escaped me, removing all doubt:

But she has had segment after segment lauding the mRNAs with the most hysterical vaccine fanatics around. Those include Dr. Peter Hotez, he who has called for extending “federal hate-crime protections” to scientists (like him) who face criticism for efforts to suppress discussion of the origins of Sars-Cov-2 or potential problems with the mRNA vaccines.

In May 2021, she even ran a segment about how to help teenagers to get vaccinated against the wishes of the parents.

On her Instagram page, she also lauded her husband for “wait[ing] 8 hours in the cold for a vaccine.”
Further, NBCUniversal required all its employees to be Covid jabbed to return to the office.

So it seems safe to bet that Vossoughian is up to her eyeballs in mRNA. (If she’s not, hella hypocrite.)

Now, even the good people at the Centers for Disease Control admit that the Covid shots can cause myocarditis. But Vossoughian didn’t see any reason to talk about that link. No, she had her own theory, a “literal common cold.”

She brought on Dr. Gregory Katz, the cardiologist who’d treated her, to second that notion. Which he did, before going on to say that yes, he’d been seeing more myocarditis lately.

But why, Dr. Katz? Oh, probably all those colds!

But what’s behind those? Oh, could be anything! Maybe the masking, maybe the social distancing?

Anyway, whatever is behind this weird epidemic of myocarditis that put a healthy 44-year-old woman in the hospital for more than week, we can all be relieved to know it is NOT the thing that rhymes with “shmaxseen.”

Whew!

I was worried there for a minute.
