...the problem is that everyone is telling their version of what happened. Kinda like having a joke told to ya by 7 people all at the same time and all correcting each other whenever they take a notion. This is combined with the media desire to get the story first no matter how much of it they have to make up.

As for the ability to propel itself I doubt it. The balloon(s) were above 20,000 feet which would put them in the jet stream and the jet stream travels between 110 and 250 mph. If it had a big enough motor and enough fuel to overcome that, it could not get off the ground.

How many different stories have you heard from the government/Media about unidentified objects in the sky?
Shot it down
Didn’t shoot it down because it was at night time
Was a balloon
May not have been a balloon
Was cylindrical shaped
Was octagonal shaped
Was a 200 foot tall balloon
Was size of a small car
Was maneuverable
Had no means of propulsion
Recovered most of it in the Atlantic Ocean and was being inspected at FBI.
Recovered very little of it.
Closed the airspace
Opened the airspace

The government can’t/doesn’t want to tell the truth about anything.
