Re: “If so, be careful next time you walk out your door.”
Thanks! I appreciate your concern - but the truth is, I'd be happy if snow like that was all I had to worry about. Up here, we sometimes have ICE drops of about that size. They frighten the dog! I'm guessing, but I'd say that some of our icicles weigh upwards of 30 pounds. They're at least a foot thick at their bases and six feet long. One day I'll have to saw one off and actually weigh it.

We're toward the end of a warm spell. The temp Thursday hit 51°... and there have been a lot of days in the forties. Most of the once-impressive snow is now gone or reduced to the point where grass is visible. (If I posted a pic of the yard, it would look like a lot of snow but it's been slushy during the day and only a few inches deep. At the moment, it's 20° and everything is hard as a rock. You'd likely kill yourself if you tried to walk across that supposedly-slushy yard, but in the daytime you'd think New Hampshire winters are a joke.)

February's forecast calls for snow three more times, but nothing that looks like it'll amount to much. On March 1st there could be something bigger but that's a long time from now. I always take forecasts that are five days away with a grain of salt. Ten days out? Fuhgetaboutit!

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

If so, be careful next time you walk out your door.
