Thanks! BTW, after my original post I went back, saw you were actually responding to Decomp (and I think you have a point there; he did change the question).
And then, your point about straw man arguments got me thinking.
Am I correct that it would be a straw man argument if the topic is "what wars should we fight for our country" when the reality is that nearly all the wars are not fought for the "country" at all…but primarily,if not entirely, for the government…and Fascists who work hand in hand with the government?
FWIW, I am not being flip here. I just realized that the government (the mass of people who have decided to work IN government for their own selfish reasons) are absolutely NOT the Constitution (the only thing I consciously swore allegiance to).
The Fascists and Government DRONES (including the people who joined the military as a “job”) are commonly conflated with America, which is conflated with the Constitution (social contract), with the geography, and with the population. Who benefits from that completely illogical conflation? And why should any of us fight for them?
I personally favor EVERYONE who works for the government dying FIRST, no excuses and no substitutions. That would separate the selfish from the selfless damn quickly! It would probably, also, clean up the gene pool. ;->
