I occasionally get “that feeling” when some ahole crosses my path on the highway without signaling, a Florida Man for sure, and almost touching my front bumper, at which point I “occasionally” want to respond, cause I have the car do do it, but I guess I can control that urge after all these years. Not worth to me anymore. I get my rocks off in much more rewarding ways.

I still ride my bike at 50mph downhill, down hills, around bends, etc., and at over 30mph on the flats, in groups of riders touching shoulders ala Tour de France. It feels like LIFE and real power.

Here’s what it is like hitting such speeds downhill….check the video.

Over the years of wandering Europe, I've never driven, instead either walked, subways, trains, high speed trains pushing 180 mph, ears pop when going through tunnels, that was Spain, great service... Hawaii, yes, drove there, hired a driver in Queensland or taxis there, or London, but did drive in Denmark, it was a new VW Passat, engine shut down at a stop light, rather disconcerting at the time, but other than having to deal with all the bikes in Copenhagen, the rest was fine... Some countries won't rent cars to anyone over 70 anyway, so hiring a driver works...

Inlaw is a speed freak, had his 500 HP GT500 bumped up to 750 at the Shelby shop in Las Vegas, but rarely drives it.. I had my time on motorcycles back in the '60s, got way too many tickets, eventually outgrew the need, let my M/C endorsement lapse the last renewal, the XT500 is getting dusty in my shop, but maybe will sell it one day... Just don't have that reaction time of the days of old, one too many old friends broken up, paralyzed, even dirt bikers are not immune to bashing stuff...

We were told, when we were in Moscow, the cops there don't bother to chase bikers, too dangerous...
