Re: “What is the difference between 'Putin Winning' and 'Putin not being defeated'?”
You're a military buff, so you know full well what the difference is. In the Korean war, Kim Il-sung did not win. But neither was he defeated.

In the Vietnam war, Nixon did not win, but neither was Nixon defeated.

In the Iraqi war, Saddam Hussein did not win and Saddam Hussein WAS defeated. When the war was concluded, there was no more Saddam Hussein.

Fizzy: The question was directed at you, so please speak up if I did not accurately summarize your meaning. It struck me as kind of obvious, though. I'm hoping Zimbler0 will tell us why he even asked it.

Fiz > I don't care about Putin winning. I care very much about him not being "defeated". And, yes, I want very much to see the US and European governments have their teeth proverbially kicked in.

Out of curiosity . . .
What is the difference between 'Putin Winning' and 'Putin not being defeated'?

As for the 'American government getting its proverbial teeth kicked in' . . . I'd agree that it desperately needs to happen - done BY the American People.

On Ukraine. I want to see Russia completely driven out of Ukraine and ALL of Ukraine being, once more, part of Ukraine. That does include ALL of Crimea and ALL of Donbas.

And, Sire Ribit, I have no problem with any Russian-Ukrainians who decide they'd rather live in Russia than Ukraine moving to Russia. (Assuming Putin wants them.)
