Zim: "Or is failure to achieve the desired objectives not a failure?"

Now THAT is a VERY thought provoking thought!

What is the objective we, as individual, loyal US-Constitutionalists, want to be fighting for? And what is the objective most of our "leaders" set? And what if they are NOT the same...not even close? What if they are actually antithetical?

Decomposed > Wrong... and wrong. America and Russia got tired of fighting their respective wars and pulled out.

That much is true.
But, what was America's goal in Vietnam? To keep S. Vietnam from being taken over by the Communists. From the perspective that we did NOT keep N. Vietnam from taking over we lost. (Probably a good thing as 'forever wars' are quite expensive with no return on investment.)

Similar situation with the Russians in Afghanistan - they did NOT manage to make Afghanistan a 'puppet state' of theirs.

Or is failure to achieve the desired objectives not a failure?

Zim.
