I believe I have already typed somewhere that if we and Russia get into a shooting war . . . It will only be a matter of time before it goes Nuclear. WWIII.
This is how I'm looking at it - - - U.S. and Russia dare not go directly to war with each other.
The Korean conflict. A proxy war between U.S. and Russia. Chinese manpower kept Korea from being 're-united' by United Nations (American forces). China was not then a nuclear power.
Vietnam. Another proxy war. Russia 'won' when we gave up and left.
Afghanistan. Yet another proxy war - Russian invaders got beaten down till Russia left. American win.
Ukraine. Russian invasion, America and a large number of allied countries helping Ukraine to keep from being eaten by Russia.
Where to draw the line on Russian imperialistic ambitions?
But from my chair Ukraine is a proxy war. Russia can end the bleeding at any time by withdrawing from All of Ukraine.
The United States can NOT send troops to 'help Ukraine' and Russia can NOT attack America over sending ammunition to Ukraine. Not unless either wants to start WWIII - which will have no winners.
