We wondered where the Los Angeles Times got the idea to publish such a stupid article: did they get a press release from some far-left activist group? It turns out in this case that the story came from a new study by researchers at the University of Southern California … who then sent out a press release announcing their findings. The LA Times took the bait, and here we are:
Los Angeles Times (@latimes) ~ White drivers are polluting the air breathed by L.A.’s people of color

Sammy Roth reports:
How is that possible? I asked the study’s lead author, Geoff Boeing, a professor at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy.
He told me it largely comes down to the shameful history of Los Angeles County’s low-income communities of color being torn apart to make way for freeways — a history that has been extensively documented by The Times. Today, many residents of the county’s whiter, more affluent neighborhoods — who were often able to keep highways out of their own backyards — commute to work through lower-income Black and Latino neighborhoods bisected by the 10, 110 and 105 freeways and more.
What are the solutions? Well, buying more electric cars, of course, and investing in public transportation.
Rita Panahi (@RitaPanahi) ~ Just here for the ratio, you race baiting simpletons.
Yeah, this is just yet one more proof that Democrats are racist retards who shouldn't be allowed to procreate.
Joel M. Petlin (@Joelmpetlin) ~ If *Finding Racism Everywhere* was an Olympic sport, this LA Times article would be heavily favored to win the gold medal. 🏅
Nick Short (@PoliticalShort) ~ Congratulations to the author of this piece @Sammy_Roth. You have managed to write not only the most idiotic but racist piece of 2023!
Jacob Airey (@realJacobAirey) ~ This is next level stupid.
Which is exactly why the Pffffarters will find this article to be mind-numbingly brilliant. ROTFLMAO!
B. Robert (@brobertphd) ~ I see Los Angeles Times is settling into the future narrative of “You must support 15 minute cities or you’re a white supremacist.” Well done comrades, Klaus approves.
Suburbs are bad, commuting is bad ... everyone should live in an urban apartment located close enough so they can ride a bike to get everything they need.
Yeah, so they can bike through LA's POC neighborhoods and get robbed, raped, and murdered much more easily.
Hector León (@hectr7) ~ Wait ... I thought we all breathed the same air? Do they have their own air? Do POC drivers not pollute the air?
Probably more.
g (@gkvky6zffq) ~ I have a setting on my car that sends the exhaust to exclusively POC homes.
Oh wow ... wonder what that accessory costs?
Rich Newton (@Rich_Newton_) ~ It’s been raining a lot in LA lately and the rain has been wetter for people of color.
Johnny4K (@Johnnyin4K) ~ So you’re sayin literally that people of color don’t drive? Probably one of the most racist things I've seen on Twitter in a while.
Malibu Road (@maliburoadmovie) ~ The largest Los Angeles County racial/ethnic groups are Hispanic (48.7%) followed by White (25.5%) and Asian (14.6%). Does this mean Hispanics are officially “White” from the POV of Communists?
Travis Comstock (@travcom13) ~ When you view the world through race colored glasses ...
Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) ~ They should create a Pulitzer for dumbest articles of the millennium just so this article can win the prize it deserves.
If Los Angeles is majority Hispanic, aren’t Hispanics also contributing to the air pollution, or do they not drive? Somehow the authors of the study managed to determine what exhaust came from cars driven by white people.
