The body of Stephen Smith, a 19-year-old who died on a rural road near Alex Murdaugh’s estate in 2015, is to be exhumed, as Smith’s family seeks answers surrounding his mysterious death.
No member of the Murdaugh family has been directly named as being involved in Smith’s death, but South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators have said they received tips that one of Murdaugh’s sons may have been connected.
