According to the San Francisco Police Department’s crime dashboard robberies in the city are up almost 20 percent compared to the same three-month time frame last year.
Apparently voters in San Francisco aren’t happy with the result of what they voted for, so a CNN crew went there to do a story about people who are upset about crime in their city. Guess what happened next:
Kyung Lah (@KyungLahCNN) ~ Got robbed. Again. @jasonkCNN & I were at city hall in San Francisco to do an interview for @CNN. We had security to watch our rental car + crew car. Thieves did this in under 4 seconds. Security stopped the jerks from stealing other bags. But seriously - this is ridiculous!
Kyung Lah (@KyungLahCNN) ~ San Francisco is a beautiful city. This is our 3rd day here and I’ve loved my time here. But if you do visit this city, know that even with hired security watching your car, it is not enough.

Also, if you fly out of Oakland, know the gas stations are being hit around the airport. Teams here in Oakland say passengers show up crying because their bags are all stolen, all in seconds.
Kyung Lah (@KyungLahCNN) ~ Restaurant staff told @jasonkCNN that they are angry with San Francisco crime and saw Jason’s “whole life” was in his bag. They had to search for his number and finally found a business card. SF is filled w/good, frustrated people who deserve better.
All those areas have something in common ... what could it be?

Perhaps the angle of the CNN story on citizens’ discontent with crime spikes where they live should be “you get what you vote for.”
