I wouldn’t live in Arlington even for free. Traffic, malls and bad oxygen. Maryland, same and worse. Illinois, fuggetaboutit, flat and no beauty, etc.
In Texas, you get to live with …Texans. Austin is the best, but weather and horrible summer heat make it a dubious destination. At least here in east coast of south florida, even in the 90s of August and Sept, we have coastal winds to take the edge off. Of course, I hate the traffic lights, the stupid drivers, and the extreme building going on where all the farms in West Boca, Delray and Wellington, West Palm, the only areas left open, seem to be eyed by developers who don’t give a shit and will turn the place into LA. Still beats any other place in the world in the winter. For summer, I’d love a cabin n MT, CO, WY, about half hour outside of a nice town. Or, Greece.
