You know I do. The following came toward the end of Chapter One:

Because the founders failed to find a way to address the entire issue of race-based chattel slavery, less than a century later the nation they built would fracture into civil war and undergo a long and halting reconstruction that continues even today.

My response:

- Except that the Civil War was not fought over slavery. That’s a line the North came up with toward the end of the second year, as the war was going very poorly for them and Europe was contemplating providing the South with aide. Until the Emancipation Proclamation, Northerners viewed it as being fought for corporatists and millionaires. Those in the North called it “the Rich-man’s war and the poor man’s fight.” Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was not issued for two years! By marketing it as a moral imperative, the North injected some enthusiasm into the recruitment effort and caused anti-slavery Europe to back away from any thought of assisting the South.

The war was about saving the Union, not freeing the slaves. Secession occurred because the South was frustrated with the larger and politically more powerful North for using its central governmental control to place tariffs on products the South needed, but not on products the South sold. That had the effect of making what the South needed expensive and what the South sold cheap, driving Southern states toward insolvency and its people into poverty. At the same time, it increased the North's profits on goods sold to the South and lowered its costs on goods bought from the South. And THAT is what caused the secession that precipitated the war.

De,
I have a feeling that it won't. That, at best, it will be laced with left wing spin.

I might be wrong.

But, were I you, I'd seriously consider trying to fact check any number of things 'he' might have typed.
