IMO, the way this is actually likely to shape up is that the only "free" people will be the people who do not live in the country where they have citizenship. In our case, citizens of the US who live in the US will be demonstrating that they are effective serfs...unable or unwilling to escape their mental and physical and dependency cages.

The free will be those who are able and willing to walk out of the system as they will and have somehow arranged to generate income outside the country of their birth, and ideally outside the countries where they reside. You see this already in "digital nomads" who are treated almost like nobility because they bring wealth into a particular country but don't claim any rights to social services in the country where they live/work.

This category of independents exists already. The Davos folks are transnational, of course. But there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of others who are perhaps not so super-wealthy yet still independent. They understand the system of Freedom; the "costs" vs. the benefits. It helps to have 2-3 passports, and speak multiple languages. Many Swiss are in this category, but there are also those from other countries, including the US.

In many ways, US citizens are the most enslaved of all: the overwhelming majority only speak one language and have quaintly attached themselves, voluntarily, as dependents to the State, in one way or another. But the worst thing about being a "citizen" of the US is that the US asserts its OWNERSHIP of US citizens in an especially degrading way: requiring them to report their worldwide income even if they live their entire life outside the US, derive NO services from the US, but were merely unfortunate to be born to US parents.

However, even these poor souls are provided respect and an escape if they take the time to learn international and US tax laws. Also, at the end of the day, the US is very unlikely to care what a US citizen does outside the US so long as they don't embarrass the State too publicly

If you want to be free, you must demonstrate you are willing to be free. Stop playing the patsy. Stop practicing silly “patriotism” to a particular GOVERNMENT. Yes, it takes an act of will to break away, but it still possible. You see expats everywhere you go … including in the US. Look, isn't it true that the US government treats foreign visitors with more respect than US citizens? Get a clue. Even illegal foreign visitors are generally treated better than US citizens.

Look, the sad truth is that even the US government respects those who have citizenship outside the US but choose to live in the US, for a time, vastly more than those who are just lackeys of the US! Get a clue!

The IRS is going to keep track of all of your transactions over $600. If you buy a car and then a few years later sell it. They will view the proceeds of the sale as taxable income. It will be your responsibility to prove its not income. They’re going to be inside E-bay, PayPal etc. So keep your receipts.

With the government’s digital dollar. You will need their permission to buy /sell things. Need to ask the federal reserve if you can sell you stocks/buy any stocks.
