In this case, a void thereof.
Out in the bush or in a good sized firefight, my brothers kicked some seious arse. Everything rises or falls on leadership. Our company and Brigade commanders were pretty much top notch and thought things through like the grunts did. They did not intentionally put us in harms way but put us in position to do as much harm and damage to charlie as we could wreak.
Anyway, that is all ancient history in the far distant past. I was just thankful to not come home maimed or in a body bag.
