We’re seeing a lot of tweets about Tax Day, which has us thinking of abolishing the IRS. But thanks to Director Steven Dettelbach, we’re reminded that the ATF should be disbanded too. Dettelbach was asked at a hearing to define “assault weapons” in 15 seconds, and like Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson when asked what a woman is, admitted to not having the expertise to answer. “Assault weapons” is a meaningless term, but it’s at least better than “weapons of war” (that aren’t used by the military).
If Sen. Dianne Feinstein weren’t missing in action, she could have cleared things up by explaining that assault weapons are the black ones with the thingies attached, like the chainsaw bayonet. Feinstein prefers the less scary-looking wood-paneled models.
Serious question: Can you name one person in the Biden administration who you think is doing a good job? Just one.

Just like the president himself, who’s calling for an assault weapons ban. It’s clowns like this guy that make it clear: If you’re going to write a law banning something, you’d better be pretty damn specific about what it is you’re banning.
