...then we had a kid who specialized in getting hit by a pitch. For some reason he preferred getting hit in the head. We called him dingy. None of them baseball helmets for us.

...kids these days are spoilt rotten!

...baseball shoes? Nobody had any of those. Some played barefoot and some played in their street shoes unless mama was likely to make a knot on their head for messing them up. One kid had a pair of them US Keds ankle high with the round white circle on the ankle. It was a proven fact that ya could run twice as fast with them on. Nobody liked him. He was a fricken show off.

...he was spoilt enough to be a kid from these days.
