Just something I was thinking about with the great news about Joey.

I have followed the work of the Trusted Computed Group since its inception. And Intel was a major player in developing what is known as a Trusted Computing Platform and the Trusted Computing GROUP.

I think Joey should show that group what they have come up with. If it's something the TCG has not already thought about it would be something maybe they ought to consider incorporating. It just seems to me that computer security at the chip level which is what the TCG was focused on is similar to what Joey was doing...

Maybe I am wrong but that is what my mind is thinking...

A team my son is on designed a new security feature for processors. Its writeup was subsequently published by ACM. The paper had a dozen listed authors. Joey, the only student, was fourth. That's a subtle compliment given the tradition of ordering authors by their relative importance to the work.

A few weeks ago, the team presented at a conference in Vancouver and received the 'Distinguished Paper' award.

Last week Joey was contacted separately by three officials at Intel to encourage him to interview with them for a summer internship. Joey doesn't know if the contacts were independent or coordinated. (If coordinated, then it strikes me as rather weird.) I'll have my fingers crossed for him on that.
