...if ya have a friend or relative ya haven't heard from and ya worried about them ya can call the local cops and they will send someone out to check on them to see if they are alright. Sometimes they find people who have fallen and can't get up or who have some other problem that requires assistance. This is called a Welfare Check. The cop was not a Clown with a badge violating the rights of someone who had not committed a crime.

...Cops wear a lot of equipment that ya can't get out of the patrol car without grabbing part of the belt to assist. Sometimes ya grab the gun which is the heaviest thing he is carrying. He was not Preparing to Shoot an innocent citizen.

...Round in the chamber? Every cop you see carrying a semi auto pistol has a round in the chamber. There is also a safety which should be engaged.

...your dislike of cops no matter what they are doing tells me ya have had a bad experience and it is likely that you brought it on yourself.

We’re now learning more about a situation when a Hobart-Lawrence officer’s gun went off, shooting him in the leg during a police chase.

Police released footage from Officer Samuel Schroeder’s body and dash cameras from early December.

Officers were asked to check on a person’s welfare. Officer Schroeder pulled that person over after a short pursuit, then was hurt when his gun fired. The video shows him falling to the ground shortly after a gun goes off.

A closer inspection of the video shows Officer Schroeder’s finger was inside the trigger guard. Hobart-Lawrence Police Chief Michael Renkas tells our sister station WISN Officer Schroeder couldn’t explain that but denied doing anything outside his training. Renkas said the gun was inspected by Nelson Tactical in Green Bay, which couldn’t find any problem with the gun and couldn’t reproduce the gun firing without using the trigger.

Clown with a badge doing a welfare check on someone who had not committed a crime, yet he was prepared to shoot and kill that same person as is evidenced by his hand on the pistol, his finger on the trigger, and a round in the chamber.
