...bags of crap? If I happen to outlive mz ribit I will have an attic and a basement of crap that I will immediately make available to whoever gets here first with a truck or two.

I've mentioned Woot! before, but it's been a decade since I last spoke of winning one of its Bags-of-Crap, and that was on another forum. Bags-of-crap are hard to win, and their contents are random. You don't know what you're going to get. Sometimes they really are just random junk: Hell's Kitchen wash-cloths, dolls, can openers, PS3 game controllers. Things like that. While we've won several, it's been a long time since we got anything interesting.

Woot! used to be independent. Now it's owned by Amazon, and the consensus is that Bags-of-crap aren't what they once were. In the Way-back, $3 (plus $5 S&H) bags-of-crap included some cool things. People received TVs and kitchen appliances. We once landed a dozen or more SANYO MP3 players of various sizes and models (some didn't even work). Our best bag came with a full robot, about two feet tall. The thing runs on linux. It's fully programmable and can do cool things like chasing and fetching a ball, hearing, speaking, etc.

It's been a long time since we won a noteworthy bag-of-crap, but my wife did last week - and it reminds us of the old days. Our bag, which arrived Friday, contained:

• One obligatory green bag
• One collapsible folding wine bottle (for sneaking wine into the movies, of course)
• Three bottles of glitter paint (because who doesn’t need more glitter in their lives?)
• A Tiny Rick hoodie that is far too small for any adults I know (but might fit the dog with a little adjustment)
• Two USB plugs for the car - My truck actually needs these)
• An Edgar Allen Poe wine stopper (for those occasions when we’re unable to finish a bottle of wine… which never happens)
• A weird multi-ink clip-on Woot pen with eyes (a frog? an alien? no one knows)
• And two pairs of wireless noise-cancelling headphones (retail value on Amazon is about $100 for the two)

Not a bad haul! But it pales alongside what a few people described on the message board. One received a blender. Several received heavy dutch ovens. One fellow received a computer, complete with wireless mouse and keyboard (HP Envy TE-0q-1050 tower desktop, Intel i7-10700, 2.9 GHz, 16 GB ram, 1tb ssd, Windows 10h, NVIDIA GEForce RTX 2060. Modern models of the Envy sell for $1,230 on Amazon.) But no complaints here. Although many reported receiving a wireless headphone, we're the only ones I see whose booty came with TWO! Nice.
