If I had a piece of land big enough, in a northern US climate I would try to specialize in dry beans and nuts. Vastly underrated in good times; vastly valuable in hard times. Can store dry for literally years. Fantastic source of protein and other nutrients. Perhaps the best food of all in terms of pure nutrition and hard times. (Heck, I think I may try to grow some myself at small scale to see what happens, as an experiment...I have maybe 2-3 acres free which will otherwise grow weeds....Can I borrow a tractor?) -Fiz
