Bone spurs from arthritis are what turned my rotator cuff muscles into shredded hamburger according to my surgeon/ortho doctor of 35 years.
I feel your pain already. Hopefully you wake up with a tube inserted into the shoulder area with pain meds being pumped in on a timely basis. That's what doc did to me both times.
I asked him how will we know when the ball runs out of pain med? He chuckled and said "you will know".
He was right. Thankfully I had a prescription for percocet that we filled before the pain ball ran out..
The thing that will bother yuou most I believe is trying to move that shoulder the first time out of a sling by a physical therapist.. I almost cried..
It is a painiful surgery only because of where it is and what is being cut on.. Hopefully your surgeon grinds away any arthritis spurs he sees on your bone.
I did not realize you already had the left one operated on already, so you should know what to expect..
I simply still remember both of my shoulder surgeries because they happened two days before Thanksgiving one year apart exactly. I could sit there and watch all 16 members of the family chowing down and enjoying all the things everyone had made and I could not use my right arm to do anything with and I do not do well with my left..
My best wishes for a successful and as painless operation as can possibly be! I will pray for you before time and after for healing..
My best wishes for a successful operation!
