Re: “I do have congestive heart failure...”
I'm very sorry to hear that. Was it caused by the arteries they had to bypass?

I strongly suggest you determine the cause of your heart failure. When my mother had it, her cardiologist told her there was no benefit to learning why she had it. "The treatment would be the same and the testing would be hard on her," he claimed. But I then discussed it with a world class cardiologist (an article about his work with Left Ventricular Assistance Devices [LVADs] had just headlined newspapers across the nation) at Temple University hospital. He told me that it bothered him that the cause wasn't being pursued, and that if she was his patient, determining the cause would be the FIRST thing he would want done.

My siblings and I told my mother's cardiologist about this and the man threw a fit. He said that he wanted to know who this other doctor was who would overrule him with a patient he hadn't even examined. In other words, this arrogant asshole was trying to make it about himself instead of about my mom. The tantrum he threw was quite unbelievable. We fired him immediately. An endocrinologist we took my mother to shortly afterward diagnosed her with a hyperactive thyroid. If she hadn't been diagnosed and treated - EASILY treated, by the way - her thyroid would have continued damaging her heart and she wouldn't have lived much longer.

So that's my CHF story. If you haven't had tests done to tell you concretely why you have congestive heart failure, get them done. If a doctor is uncooperative about this, get yourself a better doctor.

I wish you the very best....

The great news is I Am not diabetic. I do have congestive heart failure and more than my share of arthritis that eats yer joints, but otherwise, nothing wrong with my digestive system..

I will say that one of the advantages I have after going thru now over three months of recovery from Hepatitus A
is that I eat far less than I did before. Maybe between the heart attack and 4 completely clogged arteries that had to be replaced it's a good thing that my medical team plus Miz Micro (who relishes her role of making sure I stick to the dietary rules) my eating habits have changed significantly.

I am 35 pounds lighter than before the medical events I have gone thru this year and at the end of last..

I am down several waist sizes in pants and shirts. I still am not as thin as I Was when I had graduated High school or was busy being a tourist in Southeast Asia with a bunch of other guys from the U.S.and we didn't even need to have a passport to be there!

Anywho, I like the subs they make at Firehouse Subs and the fact that they donate a portion of every sub sold to local fire departments for equipment...
