I musta done millions of miles on the Taconic over the years going back and forth to the city snow or rain, or beautiful summer weather day or night, or early morning hours on a totally empty road. I once got two speeding tickets by the same state trooper at 3 am 5 miles apart. The second time he came to my window and said: “ Some people never learn.” I beat both those tickets, one for 92mph and that was after I hit the brakes when I saw him sitting on the right in the dark, stalking. I was doing 110 I believe at the moment.

I had been out, had some to drink, was too tired to take my radar detector out of the trunk when I got in the car, and wanted to get home and to my bed ASAP. I was focused like an F16 pilot on the task, so I had to deal with the cards I dealt myself.

Oh ……the memories…. Cheesy Grin

The Taconic is one of the prettiest to travel.

I'm 4 minutes off Bryant Pond rd.
