Louisiana man charged after shooting teen girl playing hide-and-seek
Tragedy strikes again as a 14-year-old girl is shot in a game of hide-and-seek. On Sunday, April 25th, a 14-year-old girl was tragically shot in the back of the head while she was playing hide-and-seek in rural Louisiana.
The shooter, 58-year-old David Doyle, has been charged with aggravated assault and battery, claiming he had observed “shadows outside his home” and opened fire on the assumption that someone was trespassing.
The incident occurred in the small town of Starks, 250 miles west of New Orleans.
According to a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, several juveniles had been playing hide and seek in the area, sometimes trespassing on the neighbor’s property. Doyle reportedly noticed the shadows at his house, and quickly retrieved his gun and started shooting. Unfortunately, he hit the 14-year-old girl. Luckily she only suffered non-life threating injuries.
