BREAKING: Cases of drug-resistant ringworm found in U.S.
Two cases of a highly contagious, drug-resistant ringworm have been detected in New York City — the first such cases ever reported in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday.
The fungus, Trichophyton indotineae, had been spreading rapidly in Asia before arriving in the U.S. and had been previously found in Canada and Europe.
