Good morning De!

RThat was an interesting overview of where the scientific community is at trying their best to prolong human lifespans.

The one thing they cannot do is slow down the age we attain as each year adds another one to our totals.

Nobody looks forward to all the things that happen as this semorary housing called a "body" has a limited span and that the occupant of that body inside, the YOU, of that body, does not.

I have been at far too many death beds of Christians who were on their way to heaven and held their hands and prayed with them in their last hours on this planet.

They were just as calm and at perfect peace because GOD gives us what is referred to as "Dying grace", which is Godly Peace about leaving this body and going into HIS presence and receiving a new one that looks like YOU, but does not age or have any imperfections..

THAT's the BODY I want.. New and eternal.. Perfect with no imperfections or getting any because in Heaven, disease or germs or viruses or any other bad things exist..

So, while I do not argue the point that exercise is good thing for people for several reasons, their comes a point in time and body degeneration that for some, they canobnly do basics like walk for as long as they can, etc.

My days of calisthenics are long over and absolutely no running. I can walk a limited time and distance due to the skeletal defects and curse of degenerative arthritis in all my joints.

It does not get better with age. lol!!!

So, lots of people my age I know who are not afflicted as I am and Ribs is, walk the mall or stores.

I do actually walk the stores with miz micro grocery shopping and department stores and the Mall. Sometimes I MUST sit down on a bench and rest.. Too much pain.. Let is abate and then go on..

Such is life when one has these wonderful things destroying the joints of your body on the inside and getting worse with more impact on ya as we continue to get older...

I am reminded of the old song that I love, "This world is not my home, I'm just a "passin" thru". My home is up in heaven, somewhere beyond the blue". The angels beckon me to heaven's goplden shore, and I don't feel at home in THIS world anymore".

I am happy to just be alive and enjoy the comaraderie of the folks here, the great articles and new info you all share, and learning things I did not know before.

It gives me something I look forward to daily besides my crossword puzzle from Stan and tough Sudoku puzzle I do daily. Then I have my clients and their problems to exercise my brain and trouble shoot which I enjoy.
The distance driving I do not enjoy anymore. I just do it and listen to different things in my car on trips.

Anyway, it's Friday and I am relaxing today.. I am still tired from my trip to Cleveland on Wednesday and Columbus yesterday. So my body strength is still in need of improvement as normally this would not bother me..

I do enjoy the diverse views of you all and seeing things differently and discussing is excellent for the mind..

Catch you all later,

micro...

Re: “Sooner or later father time and mother nature will have their way with all of us. You are fooling no one but yourself and that won't last.”
I don't think you are current on the directions being pursued and the tremendous progress being made in life extensions. Not only are all of the brain's components identified and being simulated, some of the simulations are working with considerable success. (The Cerebral cortex, unfortunately, is the component that is proving the most challenging.) Huge progress is being made in Genetics and Nanotechnology, much of which has the goal of reversing diseases or replacing aged cells and organs with brand-spanking-new, defectless cloned versions. It's coming along with great speed. I mean, had you ever heard of mRNA gene therapy before, say, 2019?

Seven key aging processes that encourage senescence have been identified ( • DNA Mutations, • Toxic Cells, • Mitochrondrial Mutations, • Intracellular Aggregates, • Extracellular Aggregates, • Cell Loss and • Atrophy), and strategies for reversing each are being pursued aggressively.

Things only seem impossible until one day they happen. Then it's on to the next thing that's supposedly impossible but probably isn't.

I'd say we're looking at less than twenty years for immortality (meaning thousands of years of life) to be available, though perhaps only to a lucky few.
