Yes, America once had legalized slavery. But we do not any more.
Yes, a LOT of America was annexed via 'force of arms'. Much was also purchased. But back in the days that all that was going on that was the way the world ran.
Prior to WWII major powers trying to expand their empires regularly engaged in wars of conquest. As late as the early 1940's all of France was part of Germany. Does that mean it should still be part of Germany?
And as time went by and weapons got nastier the wars of conquest got bloodier and uglier as the 'major powers' of the day collided and went to war with each other. Culminating in WWII which ended with two big BANGS.
These days, if two major powers were to go to war with each other . . . There is a good chance it will end in nuclear Armageddon.
