"PRIDE" goeth before a "FALL".
In other words, those who harbor lots of pride and have no humility but believe they can do anything because they are the absolute greatest and know everything, will have their day of reckoning..
They may get away with it for awhile but eventually GOD will have enough of it and set in motion the demise of the arrogant person who thinks the world just can't live without his/her direction..
There was a time in my life when I had a very high opinion of my own abilities and self. I was younger and on a high trajectory in my career.
I was brought down low by circumstances that I never imagined and humbled. I re-read thru the scriptures and prayed a lot and sought forgivenenss of God for my arrogance and thinking higher of myself than I should.
I gave HIM the credit and glory for mu successes to date and thanked HIM for HIS hand of blessing.
Pride is a dangerous thing, especially when it turns to arrogance in people who are not GOD led in their hearts and lives. They beleive they are invinceable, know twice as much as anyone else on the planet at ANY time or age, and have very high opinions of themselves.
I find the older I get the LESS I know.. You guys talk about things that I have no idea about sometimes but I read because I want to learn and not be ignorant.
THAT is why I like this board that Ribit started. A great accumulation of talented members with diversity of backgrounds and experiences.
I am blessed to be a small part of a wonderful community.
