Yes. I recommend his company to lots of different clients of mine because they manuafacture very good powder coatings
and they can buy as little as one pound and as much as they want.
Of course, one pound of powder will costthem about $15.00 but if they don;t need any more than that, it sure beats buying a 50 pound box....
That's pretty cool you met him.
For companies that powder coat and use a constant flow of powder, I recommend Americoats Powders.
Sherwin Williams is just garbage and piss poor quality control. That's all I will say about them other than on three occasions a customer was upset because they prdered the very same color and product from them that they make and the color was off... It was evident and obvious when Sherwin's own color STANDARD panel did not match the powder they had sent them. The color standard is what you go by so you know what you are getting when applying.
It should never vary.
Americoats is one of the very few companies that hold their tolerances for color replication to "negligible to the human eye."
Sherwin is by far the worse and pricing seems to be all over the map.
I powder coated since 1982. I had the first system in the southern half of Ohio so I have been in powder since it's inception. Seen a lot over those years.
Akzo Nobel makes good powder as does TCI.
