I haven't done it yet myself, of course. I don't even have a recent model Mac. But cat is out of the bag and we are in unknown territory, I'd say. I HOPE the big tech companies can't control this, that it really goes everywhere and breaks...well everything.

I'm not actually nihilistic, it is just that humans are so fooked at this point if the whole system doesn't seize up pretty soon and give us a new canvas.

I don't know for sure I can understand this, but I see no reason I can't learn how to run it. Check in with me in about a year or two to see if I've given up or am getting close to core understanding. My linear algebra is still really weak right now and I only have a basic facility with Python. And I am kind of overloaded with all the other things going on in my business endeavors.

LLaMA made a heady claim: that its smaller-sized models could match OpenAI's GPT-3, the foundational model that powers ChatGPT, in the quality and speed of its output. There was just one problem—Meta released the LLaMA code open source, but it held back the "weights" (the trained "knowledge" stored in a neural network) for qualified researchers only.
Flying at the speed of LLaMA

Meta's restrictions on LLaMA didn't last long, because on March 2, someone leaked the LLaMA weights on BitTorrent.

De, you seemed skeptical; just wanted to link this so you can let go of that and get into the spirit of the hack!
