The word 'armed' is not limited to only the use of firearms. When knights in armor met for battle they too were armed, with things like lances, clubs and swords, not all that different than some of the 'arms' used by the people who attacked the police protecting the Capital building.

You have not explained how one can have an armed insurrection without guns.
So many Trump supporters are in jail solely because they are Trump supporters. NOT because they committed any crimes.
Capital Video tapes show the capital had a riot on one side of the building, and capital police were admitting 'protestors' inside the capital on the other side. 'They' do not even have a valid trespassing charge to make.
