I like those hardwood floors.

My Mom's house had hardwood floors. I remember finding a bullet once when I was a kid ... and Dad pried the slug off the end of it, laid it on the floor, then lit the powder with his cigarette. BANG! The brass flew off and bounced off the walls a couple of times . . . Years later I remember finding the burn spot from it.

Then Mom and Dad had the floors redone . . after an addition was added to the house . . and those old floors were just as gorgeous as the new ones.

Re: “Is that the guest room? ”Unfortunately, no. That's the Master bedroom. While it's good sized, the two guest bedrooms are fairly small. We'll use one as an office and put a double bed into the other. If we have need for more than one bedroom, we've got a couple of futons that will probably live in the basement and our guests can sleep on them - maybe with a room divider if there are ever a LOT of guests. I don't see that happening. We don't get many visitors, and none of our friends have large families.

In the coming days, we'll be setting up those futons in the Master bedroom in order to have a place to sleep when we want to stay the night. I don't expect to move our large bedroom set for a while, maybe not even this year, and my wife intends to get rid of the captain's bed that's been in our son's room for as long as we've been here. It's rarely been used and only sleeps one.

Here's the Living room. The dark room behind the living room is the foyer.
