It's pretty easy to try without the expense of daily energy drinks.

I take Gatorade daily, btw. I don't take it for taurine, but for the electrolytes. I suffer from dehydration. Dehydration saps me of electrolytes and causes migraines. It took me 40 years of suffering from migraines to learn that Gatorade prevents them. Who'd have figured? Probably not even the folks who promote Gatorade.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

It is not the perfect book on the topic, because it talks to much and doesn't give good dosage information and other help.

But the author IS a PhD working in the field at Harvard (as I recall) and arguably the best source of credible, up-to-date information on research into the aging process.

There are multiple pathways involved in aging, and in attempting to forestall it. A lot has to do with mitochondrial decline and a lot of attempted interventions are aimed there. I haven't yet read anything much about Taurine, but it ought to be pretty safe and inexpensive, as it is a common amino acid you already eat and use:
